PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE
Definition: It describes the actions that started in the past and continued for a short period of time. In this tense, we will use WAS/WERE as helping verbs and V1+ING. Past continuous tense is often combined with past simple tense. An example of this combination is: While we were going to the market, we saw an accident. The past continuous tense is “were going” and the past simple is “saw.”
This combination shows that an action happened in the middle of something else happening.
PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE : AFFIRMATIVE/POSITIVE – ਪਹਿਚਾਣ : ਵਾਕ ਦੇ ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਰਹੀ ਸੀ, ਰਹੇ ਸਨ, ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। I, We, You, They ਅਤੇ Plural ਦੇ ਨਾਲ WERE ਅਤੇ He, She, It, Any Name, Singular ਦੇ ਨਾਲ WAS, ਵਰਬ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਫਾਰਮ ਨਾਲ (v1+ing) ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।

PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE : NEGATIVE – ਪਹਿਚਾਣ : ਵਾਕ ਦੇ ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਰਹੀ ਸੀ, ਰਹੇ ਸਨ, ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। I, We, You, They ਅਤੇ Plural ਦੇ ਨਾਲ WERE NOT ਅਤੇ He, She, It, Any Name, Singular ਦੇ ਨਾਲ WAS NOT, ਵਰਬ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਫਾਰਮ ਨਾਲ (v1+ing) ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।

PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE : INTERROGATIVE – ਪਹਿਚਾਣ : ਵਾਕ ਦੇ ਸ਼ੁਰੂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੀ ਲਗਾਕੇ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਨ ਪੁੱਛਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ, ਰਹੀ ਸੀ, ਰਹੇ ਸਨ, ਰਹੀਆਂ ਸਨ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਹੈ। I, We, You, They ਅਤੇ Plural ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ WERE ਅਤੇ He, She, It, Any Name, Singular ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ WAS, ਵਰਬ ਦੀ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਫਾਰਮ ਨਾਲ (v1+ing) ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ।
