Learn Present Continuous Tense in Punjabi

PRESENT CONTINUOUS TENSE 

It is used to talk about the actions happening at the time of speaking or right now. 

AFFIRMATIVE/POSITIVE 

RULE—SUB+IS/AM/ARE+V1+ING+OB 

  1. SINGULAR, HE, SHE, IT, NAME – IS 
  2. I – AM 
  3. WE, THEY, YOU, PLURAL – ARE 

FOR EXAMPLE 

  • am teaching English to my students. 
  • They are going to Canada. 
  • He is working hard. 

NEGATIVE 

RULE—SUB+IS/AM/ARE+NOT+V1+ING+OB 

  • He is not studying properly. 
  • Children are not plucking the flowers. 
  • am not listening to you. 

INTERROGATIVE 

RULE—IS/AM/ARE+SUB+V1+ING+OB? 

FOR EXAMPLE 

  • Are you playing games? 
  • Am I learning English? 
  • Is she cooking food? 

INTERROGATIVE NEGATIVE 

RULE—IS/AM/ARE+SUB+NOT+V1+ING+OB? 

  • Is he not going to school? 
  • Are you not doing the shopping? 
  • Am I not helping you?
