Model Answer:Â
According to some people, parents should be in favour of children participating in group activities, whereas some consider it important for a child to occupy him or herself on their own.
On one hand, organized group activities are a good way for children to learn important life skills such as teamwork and leadership. One must know how to adjust with others and take on different roles and responsibilities. Being part of a group helps children to develop social relationships as well as imbibe emotions like empathy and integrity.
On the other hand, it is also beneficial for children if they learn to occupy themselves on their own as it makes them independent. It is important that a child grows up into a confident adult. Not depending on others and being self-reliant is a quality that will go a long way.
Personally, I feel that there should be a healthy balance of both as it is said “Too much of anything is bad,” in the same way children should be exposed to group activities as well as being busy by themselves. Moreover, the child should be free to make his or her own decision depending on the mood if they want to interact or be alone. Hence, there should be no obligation or pressure to perform according to the parent’s desires.
To conclude, all parents have a unique way of parenting and raising their children but they should not be rigid in their thinking instead they should be flexible and open to welcome the new approaches for a wholesome development of their child.
