Model Answer:
The amount of rubbish produced by humans these days has drastically increased for a variety of reasons that has been discussed below.

Firstly, the sheer rise in population is the greatest contributing factor to the excessive rubbish production. India is the second largest populated country in the world hence, the volume of rubbish is generated by uncountable number of people. Secondly, the lack of awareness and knowledge due to illiteracy among citizens also plays a major role in the waste people create.

Personally, I feel that humans continuous to use plastic bags and bottles instead of switching to paper and other environment friendly options. Most people are unaware of the concept of 3R’s as, Re-use, Reduce and Re-Cycle Plastic is single handedly most toxic packaging material that pollutes the water bodies, land as well as air through burning. Moreover, the negative and laid-back attitude of civilians to continue using non-biodegradable items that only have a single time use is also a reason behind the rubbish creation which can be easily avoided.

However, government can help to reduce the amount of rubbish produced through many ways, one being by creating awareness drives and public speeches, media campaign.Another way is by imposing the fines on those who create the rubbish beyond the set limit rewarding those who follow the law. The government should also ensure a proper waste disposal system is installed to manage pollution.

To conclude, we are all equally responsible for the environment and must act like responsible citizens to protect our plant for our time here and for the future generations to come.
